What do you do in your job?

The aim of my job is to ensure the supply of products for our Animal Health business for Mexico and other countries in Latin America. One important part of my role is to build a talented and highly motivated team who ensures the right service, right cost, and quality for sourcing of all the products we commercialize in Santa Clara, Mexico.

How did you get to Animal Health?

I started with the Procurement Imports Department of Bayer de México right after school. About two years later, there was a need within the Animal Health business for someone with experience in supply chain and sourcing related to imports and exports. I was lucky to be able to join the business when we found that my skills and experience matched those needs. In 2005, I got the opportunity to lead my first team as a Controlling and Supply Chain Manager, a role which I enjoyed for almost 5 years. I took on the role of Head of Product Supply Mexico in 2011 and I lead a great team at the Santa Clara Site.

What do you like about working in Animal Health?

I have many reasons. The health and good treatment of companion and farm animals is important to me. And I find it very interesting how Bayer HealthCare Animal Health delivers solutions that really do something for the health and well-being of animals to farmers, pet owners and veterinarians. I also like working with Animal Health because I get exposure to a very dynamic and complex environment that requires quick responses and innovative solutions at the right cost.

Bayer’s motto is Science For A Better Life – how do you contribute to this?

Our customers need effective and high quality veterinary products to keep their animals healthy. Also important is the access to and availability of these products. All these pillars are the result of years of research and development, strong values and very engaged and motivated work streams. I contribute to Science For A Better Life by always keeping our internal and external customers in mind, focusing my efforts on reducing complexity of processes to deliver products to the market in a timely manner, and at the same time, maintaining our stringent guidelines, safety regulations and quality control measures.

Do you have a pet?

Yes, I have a Chihuahua named Piri. She’s a very smart dog, and very clean! Sometimes she gets excited and goes “crazy”, jumping onto the sofa, like when we have guests in our home. She also enjoys stealing socks and small toys from my two sons. Unfortunately, she doesn’t share my interest in the veterinary field – in fact, she is even a bit scared of vets.
